VUICHARD Michel SA, a specialist in electrical discharge machining, is investing in micro-machining.

Vuichard Michel SA was founded in 1967 by Michel Vuichard, a former member of the Charmilles design office, at the very dawn of electrical discharge machining. Now run by Philippe Vuichard, the founder’s son, the 12-strong company operates in the fields of wire and die-sinking electro-erosion. Most of its work is carried out on a contract basis. The miniaturisation of industrial components has been a major trend in recent years, and machining technologies are constantly evolving to ensure the industrial production of products. To keep pace with this trend and maintain its position as a pioneer in machining, Vuichard SA invested in micro-drilling technologies two years ago. Two machines are capable of drilling holes with a diameter of up to 0.025 millimetres – shapes that are virtually invisible to the naked eye.
